♥Day 2 & 3 - Long Banyok

♥ Day 2 - Exploring Long Banyok ♥

After the traditional ceremony, we decided to explore around Long Banyok. We only explored one part of the village. My aunt told us to visit the jetty and mini farm around the village. So we did but we didn't get to the farm! It's also a chance for me to try out my photography skills! As if! LOL! XD

From what I heard, before the road was available to Long Banyok, this is where people get off to get to the village. Water transport takes way longer than on land so with the new road available, it's easier to reach the village.

Me, mummy and my uncle decided to go down. The wind was super refreshing and cool on the jetty. When we were up on higher ground it was pretty stuffy and hot but when we reached the jetty, cold wind started blowing.

Came across Roselle too. Previously when my mum had this planted in our backyard, she would take the flowers and boil it in a huge pot. It taste a lot like home-made Ribenna. It has a lot of benefits for your skin too!

Lol! Just Kidding, It's just a random bridge that connects the village to another part which I have no idea where. We decided not to cross this bridge cause one of the uncle said this bridge is pretty old. Let's not risk it shall we!

On the way back to Uncle Victor's place we met this group of kids. They had a puppy which looks like a mix breed of poodle and shih tzu. It's so adorable. I think it's name is Ugi from what I remember. When I wanted to snap a photo, the little boy grab the dog and decided to pose for the camera.

These are all the pictures I have. We didn't get to explore more of the village cause my uncle had an emergency for the toilet!! LOL!

I didn't snap much pictures during the evening cause after the cake cutting ceremony, I decided to go up cause my stomach's acting up again. XD

After I went up I think they did a traditional dance where everyone was asked to perform the traditional dance. I think it was around 1 am we went to bed but the uncles and aunties decided to continue the party. They were dancing and having fun till 4 am! 

♥ Day 3 - Leaving Long Banyok ♥

Day 3 was our last day at Long Banyok. I think I ate something wrong which led to stomachache for the whole night. I didn't dare to eat breakfast at all cause the trip back to Miri's gonna take 3-4 hours and it's gonna be hard to look for toilet along the road. 

We bid farewell to everybody, thanked everyone for the warm welcome and it was pretty fun. I was contemplating whether to go into the toilet first or not, just in case I need it. However my stomach decided to say no to the toilet! -.-" Fine, off we go.....

The night before when we were going into Long Banyok where I talked about it HERE , I couldn't take any picture of the route but on the way out, it was 9 am so I was able to take picture of the road to the village.

The reason for the bumpy ride. Rocky roads.

♥ My funny toilet adventure ♥

15 minutes into the journey on the rocky road, my stomach decided to tell me it needs the toilet! FML! I was thinking to myself, " relax, it' just 3 hours! You can make it!!!!!" 

Damn, I was breaking out in cold sweats! I was like cursing in my head and my aunt Daisy saw me she was like, relax. Then my aunt Diana said to press on pressure points on my hand. Aunt Daisy was helping me put pressure on my hands and it didn't help at all! LOL!! 

I was even thinking of going on the side of the road! LOL! Kidding! My youngest uncle stated an idea, "why not you just go into a random house along the road and ask for toilet" 

BUT! Sibeh suay(bad luck), along the road no house at all! All grass nia, how to ask for toilet!? I think it was 30 minutes later a house was insight! It was a wooden house and there was a concrete house at the side building. I told my aunt, " Cannot! I think we gotta stop and ask for toilet! I need to go! " XD

My uncle went down and ask the guy working if he has a toilet we can borrow. It's pretty much an emergency! XD Thank god he say's okay and it was at the side of the house, an outhouse.

Turns out aunt Kat also needs the toilet! She too has tummy upset! She said thankfully I went to ask for toilet! LOL! I felt so relieve after that! First time in my entire life I had to go ask a random stranger if we can use the toilet! Better than keeping it in and suffering! I don't think I can even hold it in for 3-4 hours! I would've died! LOL!

There you have it! My toilet story and luckily I decided to make that choice. Cause for the next 3 hours it's all trees along the road! XD

♥ Wedding Day - 12th September 2016 ♥

Day 2 in Long Banyok - Victor & Doreen's Wedding Day!

Breakfast before the wedding. I didn't get to try any because it was too early. I'm not sure what it was but I think it's glutinous rice wrapped in leaves. My aunt said it was delicious but too bad I din't get to try it.

We were rushing to get to church at around 9 am but when we reached the father asked us "Why so early? We start at 9.30 am la" LOL. So instead of walking down the aisle, we ended up sitting outside waiting and greeting the guest. LOL

There were set-ups outside for everyone to take picture of the bride and groom. The theme of the wedding was in blue so everything was literally in blue. Even my nails were within the blue theme. Let's take a moment to appreciate my master piece XD HAHA!

We returned to the house around 11 am after the church reception just in time for lunch.

I think there was a few more but I couldn't remember what it was.

The cooking area was located all the way at the back of the house. It's an open area which is pretty huge. All the food for lunch is being prepared there.

Behold! The people behind the huge lunch feast! There's too many people so I couldn't remember who is who so imma just refer to aunty and uncle! LOL!

The huge bamboo shoots were to be used in cooking later on. I think it was fish that was stewed in the bamboo shoots.

After lunch, everyone was like in a food coma! We were exhausted partially due to the morning rush with only a few hours of sleep the night before. We get to lie down for half an hour before it's time for the afternoon session. It's the traditional wedding time. I'm not sure how to explain it as I am not so sure what is it about but I love the dress. It's so shinny and bling bling. XD

It was so hard to take picture of this part as everyone was taking pictures at the same time squishing everybody but I manage to snap a few. I had to yell my aunt's name so she would look up. The one and only photo and it turned out blurry >.<"

I'm not sure what the next event was for but it was feeding two kids (a boy and a girl) the rice by the new husband & wife.

So basically the groom feeds it to the little girl and the bride feeds it to the little boy. They had to go round the house and feeding the kids one at a time. I think from what I remembered, they went around 8x until they finish the rice on the leaf.

♥ Trip to Long Banyok [Part 1]

♥ Trip to Long Banyok 11th September 2016 ♥

As most yall who follows me in Snapchat knows it was my youngest aunt's wedding few weeks ago. While looking for pictures for this post, I realize that I forgot to take pictures for most of the places. Places like the room we slept in, kitchen, toilet, hallway, etc. -.-" Maybe if I do go back again I'll make sure to take more pictures.

Anyways, for the church and traditional wedding, it was located in Long Banyok which is Uncle Victor's hometown. So we made a trip into Long Banyok which is a 3-4hr (I think) trip from Miri.  We had to use 2 cars for the trip cause there's 10 of us.

♥ 5 pm ♥

We left my grandma's house at around 4.30 pm and about 5.45 pm we're away from all the buildings. The view was literally all greens. Super healthy for your eyes! XD

♥ 1.5 hr later around 5.30 pm ♥

♥ 6 pm ♥

For those following me in snapchat you would know throughout the way it's all forest and greens. We saw lots of palms and coconut trees. I think it was around 7 pm I started dozing off. After a while I felt the car slowed down and I woke up and it was pitch black. The only source of light was from my aunt's car stereo.

I thought that we had reach but it turns out the uncle who was leading the way wanted to rest for a while. I was told that it's at least 1.5 hours more until we reach Long Banyok. Wooots.. I went back to sleep! LOL! 

* Rewind back to the morning, I happily went to register 1 week internet package for RM 10 (600MB) worth of internet so I can use it while I was in Long Banyok. Who knows halfway into the journey, DIGI ran away! >.< The yellow man decided stop following us into Long Banyok. LOL 

The is the DIGI yellow man I was talking about. XD. What happen to the campaign that stated - I will follow you, follow you wherever you may go????? Cheat my feeling this Digi

Only Celcom was available inside Long Banyok. -.-" This is why I decided to sleep throughout the ride! *

Back to my story, I think it's around 8.30pm we reached the rocky road. The road is not that bad into the village but it was super bumpy going up and down hills. The road's covered with large rocks which is why everyone staying inside the village uses large vehicles. The rocky road took us around 30 minutes and finally I see lights!!! 

I was so happy when I saw lights from the village and I was happily telling my aunt we've reached. Turns out it's not Long Banyok! LOL XD! Damn paiseh, it's another village! However it's not that far from Long Banyok, I guess it's around 15-20 minutes more and we finally see lights from the village again. This time YES! the uncle leading us in turned in and we've reached our destination!

We reached around 9.30 pm! Dinner awaits! ♥

♥ Late dinner ♥

I can't really remember what was for dinner but I remember fish, stewed pork and pumpkin.

The only picture I remember to snap was the living room. The rest of the place I forgot to snap. I think it was around 1 am we went to bed after shower. Everyone was exhausted and we had to wake up super early for the wedding the next day.

I thought it would be super hot like sauna at night but it was totally the opposite. I'm not sure about others but me and aunt Kat was literally freezing. It was so cold around 3 am we had to wake up to look for blankets! Aunt Kat was trying to get the blankets but it was under my uncle so by the time she managed to grab the blankets, we had to wake up already! LOL
